Amy Dieterle ~ It all starts within ~
With an extensive array of expertise in many areas of recovery and wellness, I can help you on the path to living a healthy, vibrant, fabulous life. With over 17 years of addiction recovery from alcohol, drugs, codependency and food, I personally get it. I remember as if it were yesterday. I got sober in 2004 and what I discovered was that alcohol and drugs were not the problem, they were the answer. The problem was underneath. The problem was old patterns of negative thinking telling me things like, "You're not good enough" and "Nobody likes you". Alcohol/drugs took away those thoughts. They gave me the courage and fearlessness I had always desired. They also gave me many blackouts, destroyed relationships, and in the end, killed my self-esteem. I tried many forms of control, before I finally threw up my hands and admitted defeat. I knew I could not do sobriety alone, so I sought help. Threw 12 step recovery, I was able to shed many of my old negative patterns of thinking and being. I learned to be a trusted member of society, a good friend, coworker, and family member. However, something was missing. I no longer had the desire to use something outside of myself to soothe or fill a void, but I was not growing. I craved expansion. I had to go within in order to expand outward. It was only through my own self-work, self-study, writing, and tons of yoga, including daily meditation and breath-work, did I truly step into my divine feminine being and become who God/Source intended me to become.
Yoga helped me on my journey so much that in 2016 I began my Yoga Teacher Training. I witnessed the deep, powerful, healing properties of yoga in my own life and knew I had to pass it on. Recovery and Yoga go hand in hand and I trained in Resilient Yoga For All Addictions, melding my wisdom of recovery and teaching together.
It has taken me over 17 years of recovery, therapy, self-work, and yoga to get to where I am now. I have synthesized that process and in only a few short months will help you achieve the freedom and spiritual growth I have achieved. I utilize trauma informed yoga, meditation, and writing to help you move beyond your basic recovery and start to build a beautiful, fulfilling, joyful life. Working with me will be an invaluable next step in your recovery journey on your way to a thriving, fruitful life.
